Well, the plan to stay in Miami until we fly out to the Bahamas is canceled! I didn’t think I would ever say that, but it is really hot! Last night at 2:30 a.m. I woke up for the 10th time after first falling asleep at 8 p.m.. I noticed, that Marvin was still watching a Video and asked him what time it was… well 2:30 a.m. was definetly the wrong answer! I am – in general, a big catch for mosquitoes, but this is a whole different level. I stopped counting because I look like I am a drug addict, that’s how bad it is. My arms, back, legs, upper body, shoulders, feet and face are FULL of bites. Even tiny little flies started to bite me, which really hut. Anyways, the bites itch so bad, that I wake up from it and don’t know how to get back to sleep. Around every 30-60 minutes.. for anybody that has ever had that knows how annoying that is. Well I only woke up to find out that Marvin hasn’t even made it close to sleeping because he was so sweaty hot. The humidity was around 97-100% and mosquitoes everywhere even though we have every window shut that doesn’t have a mosquitoe net.
Long story short, we said alright this is not working we need to go further north, which we did. We drove for around 2h before we found a place right by the beach that even had showers. We were both tired enough at 5 a.m. to just fall asleep, but definetly enjoyed our first „actual“ swim and showers with April this morning. We felt so gross it was a whole nother level of feeling disgusting! Haha
Der Hitze entkommen
Der eigentliche Plan war, dass wir in Miami bleiben bis wir auf die Bahamas fliegen. Nachdem die Luftfeuchtigkeit aber heute Nacht so schlimm wurde, dass Marvin die Augen bis 2 Uhr noch nicht mal zugemacht hatte und ich von oben bis unten mit Moskitostichen eingekleidet bin, von denen ich aufwache, haben wir entschieden in den Norden zu fahren. Nachts… Es war uns egal, aber noch eine Nacht wollten wir nicht so verbringen. Wir sind also 2h nördlich gefahren, wo wir direkt an den Treppen zum Strand mit Duschen etc. stehen konnten, die wir gleich am nächsten Tag genutzt haben, nachdem wir ins Meer gesprungen sind. Es war traumhaft! Wir hatten schönen Wind und endlch geschlafen!
